Lustig ist, wenn man nach Oslo fährt, um an einer Konferenz über gescheiterte Projekte teilzunehmen, am Sonntag vormittag vor dem Rückflug nach Bahlin noch schnell den berühmten Holmenkollen besuchen möchte und daran so gründlich scheitert, dass man dem Gastgeber nach der Heimkehr folgendes stolz berichten kann:

Our trip to Holmenkollen, by the way, would be a subject for the next Reality Check. We got up at 6:30 to find that breakfast at the Hotel is served from 8 on Sunday. So we skipped Frokost. The guys at the reception told us the train to Frognerseteren would leave at the Subwaystation close to the bus depot. When we got there we noticed that was a blatant lie, and went on to Majorstuen. There we didn't notice that the train has its own platform and we missed the first one that left. So we stayed on the platform for 40 minutes until the next train arrived. Time was starting to run out, so we didn't go to Frognerseteren to walk to Holmenkollen, but just one stop past Holmenkollen, planning to walk back from there.

We started up the hill and imediately got lost in the fog and a maze of small private roads. Due to the fog we didn't see the view, either. After half an our of aimlessly stumbling among the nice homes in the fog, snow and sleet we went back to the same station we had arrived at. We had no more time to stop at Holmenkollen and went past it for a second time. Going back down, the fog cleared, and we were able to see the beautiful view of the city and the harbour for a few seconds.

Back at the hotel we even had ten minutes for breakfast before taking the bus to the airport. By then the sky had cleared up completely, the weather was beautiful, and we looked upon the landscape jealously from the bus. The trip back to Berlin went without furhter noteworthy events.
